I thought about titling this “the craft of effective technical leadership.” But that felt wrong, because there’s no one craft, and no one method. So instead I’m going to talk about how I craft myself. Much of leadership, after all, is the art of being percieved in a certain way. It is as important as strategy and execution, and arguably more important in many ways. I had to learn it the hard way, and reinvent myself continuously over and over throughout the years. In doing so, I’ve become an effective leader, and have shaped much of my life with deep intention.
